Our practice was established to provide a more technically informed approach to building surveying, combining academic understanding of building construction with extensive practical experience of construction methods, traditional materials, building defects and remedial works. LISTED & HISTORIC BUILDINGS We undertake detailed surveys and technical assessments of listed buildings, historic properties and traditionally constructed buildings. Our experience encompasses traditional masonry, lime mortars, timber structures, historic roof coverings, leadwork, rainwater disposal and the complex relationships between traditional construction methods and modern interventions. We recognise the importance of conservation principles, appropriate material selection and proportionate repair strategies. BUILDING CONDITION & PRE-ACQUISITION SURVEYS We provide detailed building condition surveys for clients purchasing, owning or managing residential, historic and commercial property. Rather than relying solely upon standardised reporting formats, we aim to provide clear technical observations, an assessment of significant defects and practical recommendations for further investigation, maintenance or repair.
